Parents, we sent the “123 Flyer” home with your student on Thursday, September 12 so please hunt through your kid’s backpack if you haven’t yet seen it! The flyer explains how to register for FFF (by Monday, September 16) and how students can earn a free KONA ICE coupon by doing the following:

Double Your Football, Foam & Fun with a Corporate Match!

Did you know that many business organizations offer a matching gift program as part of their employee benefits package? These programs allow you to invoke your organization's philanthropy for the benefit of Frank Black Middle School PTO! Through corporate gift matching, your employer can multiply your donations. And the Fun Run folks make it super easy to check - after you complete your donation you have the option of looking to see if your company has a matching gift program!

Please check with your company's Human Resources department to see if they offer gift matching AND if PTOs are eligible. Some employers will match a donation to the school but not to the PTO. If your employer does offer this program, your Human Resources department should be able to direct you to a link to complete your matching gift request. What is Football, Foam and Fun?

Football, Foam and Fun (aka “FFF”) is the Fall Fundraiser for the FBMS PTO and allows us to jumpstart the new school year with impact right away! FFF is a great opportunity for local businesses to sponsor and spread awareness of their offerings, it’s an easy fundraiser for parents to support off-campus, it offers fun and useful incentives for students to potentially earn, it’s SUPER FUN and it’s a great way to kick off the school year to support campus needs right away!

What is the Structure of the Fundraiser?

In 2019, the fundraising window kicks off Wednesday, September 12 with assemblies for each grade level and then is open through Friday, September 27.  

Can I make a Cash Donation?

Yes!! Please note that if you want a cash donation to count towards prizes for a student, it will require a manual entry into the system so please consider this for timeliness of earning prize levels.

If you have a cash donation, please drop it off at the FBMS main office or send it to school with your student to drop it off in the main office. Please place the donation in an envelope as follows:

Inside the envelope:

  • Cash

  • List of Donors and Amounts (if multiple donors contributed and you want to remember)

On the outer envelope:

  • Student’s name

  • Homeroom teacher

  • Grade

  • Clearly marked “FBMS PTO Fall Fundraiser” 

It will be put in the PTO box and we will check for donations every morning - so incentive levels won't record until the following morning after pickup.

When is the Actual Event held for Students?

The AWESOME and FUN event for students to enjoy will be held on Thursday, October 24 DURING SCHOOL and is full of outdoor sports and activities, plus of course – FOAM!  This is scheduled in on the school calendar to be close to FBMS Homecoming. 

Why is There a Time Gap between Fundraising and the Event?

We fundraise in September and host the event in October to allow plenty of time to create and order the awesome Homecoming T-Shirts, jackets and prizes that students earn during fundraising.

I’d love to get connected, but I’m not sure how I can help.  How do volunteers support this event?

Since it’s the first big fundraiser of the school year, this event is the perfect way to get plugged in to FBMS!  There are a lot of roles for all types of personalities and strengths, including: connecting with Sponsors, supporting the marketing and graphics, creating or supporting the Kickoff assemblies, overseeing the fundraising timeframe on-campus or from behind a computer, helping with prize monitoring and distribution, and volunteering at the in-school event on October 24th – we need you!

If the first meeting has passed, can I still join the Committee?

Of course, just contact and the Chair will get you the information you need!
