Last month, Superintendent Carranza proposed three significant changes within HISD: (1) budget changes, including budget cuts of $200 million and a change in the way schools are funded from a PUA to a FTE model, (2) changes to the magnet program, and (3) either a closure and restart or a partnership program for particular chronically under-performing schools. On Thursday, February 15, HISD Trustee and Board President Rhonda Skillern-Jones will host a community town hall meeting from 5-6:15pm at FBMS in the auditorium to further discuss these proposals. We encourage everyone to come out and be informed. The PTO general meeting will immediately follow the town hall meeting. The PTO will meet in the auditorium as well.
