Where to find what

Keeping up with a middle schooler means checking more places than anyone would like. Here is every platform FBMS families actually use, what each one is for, and who runs it — so you can pick the two or three that matter to you and stop worrying about the rest.

Grades, attendance, and official school notices

These are run by the school and the district, not the PTO.

  • HISD Connect (PowerSchool) — grades, attendance, and report cards. This is the one to check if you want to know how your student is doing.

  • ParentSquare — messages from the school and from individual teachers. This is the main way the school communicates with families. Sign in with the email address the school has on file for you.

  • FBMS school website — bell schedules, staff directory, counselors, dress code, supply lists, enrollment.

  • HISD academic calendar — district holidays, grading periods, and early-release days.

News from the PTO

  • Our weekly newsletter — the single best way to keep up. One email a week during the school year. If you only sign up for one thing on this page, make it this one.

  • This website (fbmspto.org) — board and committee contacts, PTO documents, volunteer openings, and ways to support the school.

  • PTO calendar — general meetings, spirit nights, and PTO events.

  • Panther News — longer posts and announcements.

  • Facebook page — day-to-day updates and event photos.

  • Instagram (@fbms_pto) — the same, in pictures.

Parent-to-parent

These are run by parents, not by the PTO or the school, so we can't vouch for what gets posted — but they are where a lot of the practical day-to-day questions get answered.

Clubs, teams, and activities

  • sportsYou — schedules and roster messages for athletics. Each team has its own join code, which the coach hands out at the start of the season. If you're not sure who to ask, email athletics@fbmspto.org.

Still can't find it?

Email us at website@fbmspto.org and we'll either point you to the right place or add it to this page.
