FBMS PTO Volunteer Opportunities

The FBMS PTO has a volunteer opportunity for everyone! We need helping hands to plan fundraisers and school events, keep track of budgets, communicate information to parents, chaperone field trips, oversee beautification projects, host teacher appreciation week, and much more! We’ll keep a running list of PTO volunteer opportunities here.

Before signing up to volunteer please complete VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) Registration: To volunteer at FBMS for any school related activity you must be VIPS approved. You must register each year. 

There are two steps required:

  1. Take the volunteer orientation at https://www.houstonisdpsd.org/dmol/VIPS/index.html#/. Upon completion you will receive a certificate to save for your records. Please keep for the entire school year as proof of volunteer certification.

  2. Follow the instructions at the end of the orientation which direct you to the Raptor site where you will submit your personal details for an HISD background check. You will receive an email to confirm your submission and then a second email with your VIPS approval, which may take 3-5 days. 

Once you have registered with VIPS, please either sign up for the volunteer opportunity through the Sign Up Genius link in the post, or send your information to the email address listed in the post.
